Colie has always been an older sister to her four younger siblings, but when her mom is deported to Mexico, Colie and her siblings are separated for the first time in their lives. Colie is sent to the Thomas' home where she is reluctant to get settled, uncomfortable being in her new "home" and worried about her siblings and her mom. She soon finds that she and her younger foster brother, Bentley, get along well. Mason and Lloyd join them in the Thomas home a bit later, and she finds that they're easy to get along with as well. She still misses her siblings and mom and talks on the phone with them every day.
