Lloyd hasn't had much growing up. His parents were never married and he's lived in a mobile home with his drug addict mom and step-father. But when they get arrested for illegal drug activity, Lloyd is placed into the Thomas home as a foster. He starts to get along with his two older foster siblings, Mason and Colie, but he and his younger foster brother, Bentley, immediately bump heads. While Lloyd is social and popular, Bentley is recluse and avoided. While Lloyd likes all pop music, Bentley enjoys calmer alternative music. But, when an altercation between Lloyd and his estranged adoptive grandfather leaves Lloyd fighting for his life, Bentley starts spending more time with him and trying to bond because he knows what it's like to feel alone while suffering.
