Jackson was always at odds with his father as a child, and it got worse when he became a teen. The summer after he graduated, he and his father got into a fight which turned physical, resulting in his father beating him and giving him a permanent brain injury and scarring on his face. He's secretly kept in the basement by his father, Pierre, and left in the care of his other father, Toby, for quite some time. Kai is born during this time after a questionable conception involving Jackson's obssessive highschool ex. Many years later, an incident with Toby and one of Leo's kids results in him being found and taken out of the house. He now lives with Leo and Austin.
